THE HILL AT HOLIDAY MOUNTAIN
Holiday Mountain Ski Resort was established in 1959 when founder Noel Later purchased an area in La Rivière, located in the Pembina Valley of southern Manitoba. Having previously ran what was known as La Riviere Ski Hill, he then opened up Manitoba’s first official ski resort – Holiday Mountain – which quickly became a desirable skiing destination.
In the winter of 1959/60, the resort opened for business and began its legacy of innovation in Canada. The first snow making system, the first chairlift, and the first snow camera have all graced the stage at Holiday Mountain. Today the Resort, now in its 65th year, is proudly owned by Paul & Renée Warkentin and a very exciting revitalization has been underway since December 2022.

THE LIFTS
• The Blue Chair takes you to the intermediate & advanced runs, and operates at full speed! This is the first chair to open in the morning and our last chair to close at the end of the day.
• The Green Chair, further to the east, brings passengers to our beginner runs. The Green Chair also has a safety bar, and runs a bit slower than the Blue lift, to offer easy loading and off-loading for beginners. This is our secondary lift and opens after the Blue Chair.
• The Wonder Carpet is the safest Beginner lift in the Ski Industry. Picture a moving side-walk in the airport. That’s a Carpet Lift. Simply step onto the carpet and comfortably glide to the top of the hill.
